“He must increase, but I must decrease.” Jn 3:30

By the time Jesus’ ministry began to take off, John the Baptist had quite a national following. Even those who did not believe him went out to hear him preach and feared him. Yet John was not distracted by his own importance, and this statement shows why he was so great in God’s work.

If we are to be useful to God we must decrease. That is, we must put Jesus before ourselves. The more we are about Him the more He will use us.

May you find joy in Christ! -PB
