Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Isaiah 55:1 follows a view of the cross in chapter 53, and the promised restoration on Israel in 54. In this chapter 55 verse 5 a different nation is seen running to Israel’s Savior, a gentile people called by grace.

We are poor, hungry, and thirsty, while we have no means to provide for our own needs: so in mercy God gives it!

Yet there is also a warning in verse 6 to respond when God is near.  Please do not ignore this space for grace!

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
