“The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.” Prov. 14:15. Today’s reading from Proverbs was rich, but this verse stood apart for me today as the theme of it has often been on display in recent times. So many people seem to drink in every word told them by any source of media rather than testing for truth before accepting it. Today, not even seeing should lead to believing, as images are so easily and often manipulated. Especially concerning those things of God, let us be as the Bereans (Acts 17:11) to search the scriptures for truth. -PB
