Judges 7:10&11 Faithful Though Afraid. Here Gedion tests God for the fourth time. He has been called from the farm, raised to leader status, and whittled down to a mere 300 men against thousands. God tells him to go check out the enemy’s camp, but if he is afraid he can take Phurah, his servant with him (vs 9&10). So in verse 11 the Bible says “Then went he down with Phurah…” I have to laugh a little there.
I am glad that I am not the only one who has ever been afraid to do something, even if I knew it was right and what God wanted. -PB
