Matthew 15:8&9 Far From God. This passage likely sounds all too familiar to many of us who have been in the way for any time at all. We may call it “going through the motions.” The problem: following man rather than God.
It is easy to listen to men and allow others to direct our walk with God than to listen to the voice of the Shepherd. Instead of our heart leading our relationship with Jesus it is our mouth, feet, or hands. In so doing legalistic, man-centric, pride-embellishing doctrine rules our heart. -PB
