“Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.” Jer 2:32
It’s hard to think that a bride could forget to get ready for her wedding. Most usually she will review again and again making sure everything is in place as planned.
God’s people should obsess over Him daily in just the same way: checking to be sure we are walking with Him, that we are pleasing to Him, doing our best for Him. However we often don’t. As God points out in this verse, sometimes His people forget all about Him for days on end, even though He’s the best thing that ever has or ever will happen to them.
Let’s not forget He who forgives. -PB
