Do you know the definition of “besetting sin?” It’s the sin you be sitting in. We excuse sin because it’s difficult to rid ourselves of. Jesus, however, already paid that price.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.” Rom 6:1-2a “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, …” Gal 5:13.
These passages are in similar context, and tell us those in Christ are free from sin and no longer it’s slave. Being free we have power and responsibility to live clean. -PB
