From the Olivet Discourse. Mat 24:12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” This verse parallels with today’s Proverbs reading (4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.) Abounding iniquity results in a lack of love, because all sin is based in selfishness. The more self-centered we are, the less we care for others, the less we love, the more we sin. Lord help us to keep our hearts! Love is purposeful, intentional, and selfless. May the Lord find our hearts kept unto Him when He searches us (Mat 24:46). -PB
