“Meekness” is a misunderstood quality today. If meekness truly meant flimsy, shiftless, dispassionate, “do whatever to get along” then how should they ever “inherit the earth” (Mat 5:5)? Meekness, however means humble confidence. Biblically speaking this confidence is placed in God’s grace working in one’s self.

Consider 1 Peter 5:5b “for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” Pride will certainly bring one low, for any confidence placed in self/man is doomed to fail. However one may boldly go forward trusting in Him who has never failed. ┬áThis is not arrogance, but confidence. ┬áThis is not softness, but strength. Have a good day! -PB
