Matthew 8:1&2 One by One. Jesus concludes the great Sermon on the Mount and multitudes are following Him: all sorts of people including the nice ones and clean ones, but then He stops for one of them, a leper. This leper may have been the least wanted and most hopeless of all the people. Of all the people that day, the first one Jesus deals with after His great dissertation basically laying out how to be His follower, and His doctrine that will change the world, is this poor leper. That pretty well sums it up. Christianity is not by might and power, it isn’t won in many, but one at a time no matter who or what they are. Even at Pentecost each one confessed individually. Let’s see their soul and win them one by one. -PB
