“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Mark 1:3
The Christmas story is incomplete without the person of John the Baptist. He is the man Jesus said was the greatest ever born (Mat 11:11), yet his duty in life was just to prepare the way for Jesus. His life was lived separated unto God, in sacrifice of self, and setup as an example to the people.
As we are busy preparing for Christmas, let us also be busy preparing the way for Christ to rule in our lives. John’s model is a good one to follow. -PB
