Acts 8 introduces us to an interesting character named Simon. He is sometimes unfairly referred to as “Simon the Sorcerer,” but I would rather call him Simon the Saved.

This trickster was saved and fascinated by the power of God through Jesus name. Like many young Christians his zeal for the things of God soon outweighed his knowledge of God and he sought to buy the power of the Holy Ghost.  He was sharply rebuked for this behavior, but what I love about this young believer is how quickly he got back in line.  (v24)

May we all be quick to repent with clear direction from God. -PB
