Space for Grace, Ezra 9:8 “And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.” Here God’s people had been allowed to try again. They were allowed to return to a home they had lost. We know that in time to come they lost it again, but the generation of Ezra gave themselves and those to follow a chance. They still had problems: while free physically they were in bondage spiritually, and Ezra was begging the people to take advantage of the time they had been given to repent and seek the Lord. We have been given a little more time (if only this minute) to seek God and turn our hearts and ways wholly to Him. Let us not squander the moment. -PB
