Many count feelings and personal experience of greater importance than the Word of God. Surely our human understanding will result in some error, but we must be honest in searching the truth (Jn 5:39; Acts 17:11), and willing to adhere to it when we find ourselves different.

Terms like “Culture has changed” or “Times are different” do not effect scriptural truth. Neither does “I’ve always thought” or “based on what I’ve seen.” In fact error has been battled since the first church began, and people have been recycling it all along. No surprise that some error is old.

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy;” 1 Timothy 4:1-2a (1 Tim 1:6)

May we walk in the truth. -PB
